ESPC19 ~ Building engaging solutions with SharePoint and Microsoft 365 | By Vesa

A great keynote to start the day presented by Vesa Juvonen, Principal program Manager SharePoint and One Drive developer Platform.

Mark Ammerlaan, Product Marketing Director (Microsoft 365 Ecosystems), was invited on stage and went through the different development platforms and the ways of building cross platform applications. Again, Graph And Microsoft Identity are at the center of the Microsoft 365 custom applications that, we developers can use to create rich Microsoft 365 Applications.

Mark finished by two demos, the first was a clinic app running on Windows and using Widows identity and Graph to talk advantage of Planner, SharePoint & Flow.

The second was an emergency team creation process (SharePoint -> Flow (Approval) -> Teams Team creation). The Teams is pre-populated with the required channels, people, even content. The teams templates have been created in SharePoint and Flow just uses them to build the new Team.

Jeremy Thake, Principal Program Manager Microsoft Graph

Of course he re-highlighted the importance of Graph,

The new functionalities that are for the moment only available in preview were just amazing.

He also did a demo of custom App in teams, which is similar to the Meeting Capture App availalbe in Power Apps Catalogue.

He finished by showing how to leverage the power of Microsoft Search by including results from other systems.

Finally, Laura Kokkarinen, Senior Consultant at Sulava spoke about site designs.

A site design is usually a JSON file with a PnP provisioning script. And it allows to do pretty any much with the SharePoint Designs. Things like custom template, custom header, footer, lists formatting, provisioning designing from the look book …etc.
